April 2010
During my Easter break 2010, I visited ‘The Naughton Gallery’ in Queens University, Belfast. The ‘Davy Portrait Awards 2010’ was being displayed. Ian Cumberland was the winner of the Davy Portrait Awards. I found this artist very interesting because I loved how he made his portrait look so realistic. Cumberland has captured the emotion in his face. He has put time and precision into the facial expressions. I love the depth that the artist has gone to with this image. This development piece shows how I used Ian Cumberlands self portrait to improve my painting of eyes.
